Peter J. Horner is Of Counsel to
the law firm of Myers & Billion, LLP and has served clients by answering
legal questions and litigating their claims in Sioux Falls and the surrounding
area for over 30 years. Prior to joining Myers & Billion in 2007, he
was the chief litigation attorney in another Sioux Falls law firm. Petes
primary areas of practice are civil and commercial litigation including business
litigation, personal injury, wrongful death, employment law, workers compensation
and insurance claims. Petes law practice also includes wills and trusts,
business matters, family matters, divorce and adoptions.
Pete received his undergraduate college
degree (Political Science) and law school degree (with Honors) at the University
of South Dakota. While in law school, Pete served as an editor for the Law
Review and was a published author on the subject of premises liability. Following
law school, Pete served as a JAG Officer in the US Army for four and half
years with assignments in Washington, DC; Thailand; and San Antonio, Texas.
Pete also served as an Assistant US Attorney for the State of South Dakota
for two years.
Pete is married to Arlene Horner who
is a Nurse Specialist at Sanford Hospital. The Horners have three adult
daughters. Pete and Arlene enjoy community and church activities. The Horners
have been honored as the USD Family of the year. Petes hobbies include
photography, doing family tree matters, family activities, reading, gardening
and exercise activities.
